GIT is a global non-profit organization founded in 2007 with more than 50,000 members and focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology. "I couldn't think of a nicer way to celebrate Women's History Month than to acknowledge what our women do here and give an exciting experience to young women in STEM," said Odean Cameron, an administrative specialist with Carderock Division's Technology Transfer Office, who organized the event. The event included tours of the research facility along with presentations and networking opportunities with women engineers and scientists, in keeping with GIT's goals of inspiring girls in grades 6-12 in STEM and identifying pathways to careers in STEM, like those at Carderock.
